Born 1956. Judith Warren’s beautiful rich and contemplative still life paintings take as the starting point the shape, colour, light and mood of everyday simple objects and surfaces - such as fruit, ceramics, wood and stone. Starting with a preliminary oil sketch then as the painting progresses Judith will alter the composition and colour, the finished painting perhaps having a different atmosphere and feeling to the original idea. Warren’s chosen medium of oil paint gives her the freedom to work in this quietly exploratory method of execution, until the final work is realised.
Recent selected group exhibitions include the New English Art Club Annual Exhibition and Discerning Eye Exhibition.
