Graham was born in 1947 in Kent. He studied at Maidstone College of Art and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (first class honours) in 1970. Following which he worked in London as a graphic designer and illustrator. Leaving London in 1974 allowed Graham to concentrate on working on his own compositions rather than the restrictions of commissioned subjects, he continued to work on producing original prints. During this period he was mainly working on landscape subjects, it is only since 2015 that he has been working in a bold graphic style making the still life prints.

He exhibits throughout the country and also in the United States Canada and Germany. His work has been included in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition on numerous occasions. Graham is an Associate of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers. He has won many awards for illustration, including the Designers & Art Directors Association Gold Award, D & AD Silver Award, Gold Award from The New York Art Directors Club and a Gold Award from The Australian Writers and Art Directors. He also designed the range of china for the Royal Collection at St. James's Palace to commemorate the Queen's Golden Jubilee.
