Born in 1961, Francesca studied fine art at Exeter University. Initially working as a muralist, she now paints, primarily en plein air, the landscape of Britain and Europe.
Greatly influenced by frescos and medieval art, she has developed her own unique medium using simple raw materials: natural pigments and plasters, this provides her palette with an intensity and richness unachievable with conventional paints.
For the Discerning Eye Exhibition, at the Mall Galleries, in 2001 her pictures were selected by Sir Roy Strong. She is a member of the Oxford Art Society.
Francesca is involved in projects with The Ashmolean Museum, Oxford and teaches part time at The Ruskin School of Art and at St Clare’s International College.
