ANNA CECIL

Born in 1978, Anna has a MA Hons in Italian and History of Art from Edinburgh University. Following a career in the Travel industry; she returned to painting on moving to Wiltshire. 
A natural colourist, Anna is predominantly a plein air artist, fully absorbed in the immediacy of the moment, her paintings a reflection of the energy of working outdoors. The feeling of a place at the moment in time in which she paints is a primary concern behind her paintings which she aims to convey through her variety of brush marks. 
"Painting en plein air is one of life's greatest freedoms. When I paint outside I feel completely connected to the natural environment around me. I liken the immersive feeling to wild swimming, another of life's greatest highs. It is this connection to the beauty of the natural world that I want the viewer to feel too when they look at my paintings, to be absorbed in the journey of the painting, through my world of colour".
