| Born in 1945 in London, studied art and went on to study fine art at Leeds Metropolitan University from 1980 to 1983. She then became a visiting lecturer there in 1990 to 1992. In 1993 she moved to Bristol and was elected a Member of the Royal West of England Academy in 1997. Foord has had exhibitions worldwide and her work is held in public and private collections in the UK, Europe, America, Asia and Australia. She has had many solo exhibitions and has also shown at The Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions 1993 to 2003 and The Royal West of England Academy Autumn Exhibitions 1993 to 2005, The London Contemporary Art Fair in Islington, the 20th Century British Art Fair and The Royal College of Art and Olympia.
